That Friday Feeling

Sometimes you feel it you know how it is.
Wake up in the morning and everything fits.

Todays lecture on the whole wasnt that great with Hamid. Im going to be frank about it all. The amount of times that my attention was lost were very frequent and I actually can't remember most of it.

However afterwards, things picked up.
Taza II for lunch with the boys and thankfully this time there was no illness due to being greedy bastards. However the table talk was not of the highest level but it was a good laugh :D could be the start of friday lunches from Simester 1.

Overgate Putting machine 0 - 1 Hoggie
Despite being terrible at putting in real golf, I actually managed to win money putting. Putt 10 was a stoater....straight in the jaws, no hitting of rims (always a bonus in all situations) and £4 was mine...albiet on £2 because it cost £2 to play but hey :)
Watchmen the night at the cinema....looks tres mendous so hopefully it will live up to the early promise.

Hook line and Twitter

Oh how we mocked Jonny Baldwin for his seemingly endless, pointless ranblings on the beast known as Twitter. Yes ok, we still do, we really dont care about your cat, but we are now hooked. At first it looked like nothing more than another networking device for people to communicate through...and to a certain extent, it is. In todays society with social networks 2 a penny...why would twitter stand out? well its addictive! bloody addictive infact!

ramblings are back! top bombing

check out http://twitter.com/hogsonmaman and join in the fun.

Microsoft

New Year, new projects.
Second year is now back into the swing of things after the christmas break and its all systems go.
Working under the guidence of Dr Jon Rogers in the now named Product Design, we are now setting our targets on the "Microsoft Project".

After the success of the 2nd year Product Design last year with the project, we have again been selected by Microsoft to compete in the design competition. So our thanks go to them for giving us the opertunity.

Without exageration, we at Dundee University are representing "the world" in the competition. 5 universities have been selected and we are the only university outside of North America to be chosen, so no pressure then. As an added incentive for all the groups, the best solution will be given the opertunity to present to Microsoft in Seattle at the Design Expo 2009.

The brief is based around "new ways of working", based around the retired population. We have organised ourselves into "companies" of 4 and at Flamingo, we committed to designing the best solutions possible and hopefully a nice wee trip to Seattle as a result. A nice little carrot being dangled in front of us if I do say so myself. From the initial discussions I have had with my own granda over christmas I think this is going to be a really awesome project and how we have so much to learn from the older generations.

More shall follow as things develop.

Radio Redoux

We have recently completed the radio redoux project. As a class we all performed very well and produced high quality solutions to the brief. Unfortunatly I only have a collection of images of my own design but hopefully more from the class shall be made available in the future.

check out http://unboxdesign.blogspot.com/ for some other designs from the class.
p.s. further apologies to Adam for making his hand look like a flipper in the top image
